We would like to share a new opportunity on our team at San Diego International Airport for the position of Airport Arts Coordinator II.
This position will report to the Senior Manager, Arts Program and will provide curatorial, administrative, design, and project management support to the SAN Arts Program. The main responsibilities are curating and coordinating assigned performing arts and visual arts programs. This includes SAN’s Performing Arts Residency Program, the first of its kind at any U.S. airport, as well as SAN’s ongoing Live Concert Series. The position also curates and coordinates SAN’s annual Temporary Exhibitions Program, and ongoing Film Program. Overall, we are seeking a true creative who will bring a “fresh perspective” on programming and producing performing arts as well as visual art, including time-based media/video/film, in the current/post-pandemic period. A candidate who can marry music programming, exhibition curating, and design-thinking (specific to arts administration, venues/airport environment, and graphic design/layout/online), will prevail. Additionally, the position requires a true team-player and optimist by nature, who must possess the ability to present positively and be a consensus-builder. The successful candidate will show a demonstrated track record of continuous good-attitude collaboration to accomplish similar projects, and a solid practice of positivity in the workplace, as required. They will join a team focused on providing public art, performing arts, and exhibitions programming at SAN. The position is a hybrid of telecommute/in-office.
