Arrive. Depart. Be Inspired.

While visiting San Diego International Airport, as you make your way to your gate, consider which concession to enjoy, or collect your luggage, take time to notice the arts around you. Whether they be visual or performance-based, the arts at SAN were conceived with you in mind. Arrive early, visit often, and be inspired.

The Arts Program

The program provides enhanced customer service by exhibiting artwork and presenting programs that engage travelers in innovative, memorable and considerate experiences.

Public Art

The Public Art Program is charged with developing a broad collection of permanent artwork that supports and enhances the mission of the Airport Authority. Each work is thoughtfully integrated into the airport environment, with artists involved from the initial planning and design phase of each major development project.

Temporary Exhibitions

The Temporary Exhibitions Program supports the airport’s mission of serving as a gateway to the region by showcasing the work of regional visual artists, cultural institutions, educational organizations, and community groups.

Performing Arts

San Diego International Airport's Performing Arts Program provides a unique platform to celebrate San Diego's local culture and present the region's diverse talent in dance, theater, live music, and more through an ongoing concert series, special event performances, and a bi-annual airport residency.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Arts Program at SAN is committed to developing equitable processes and policies for the implementation of arts programing that elevates diverse voices reflective of the San Diego region, and that supports a full creative life for all. This effort will be supported through community engagement strategies and artist selection processes that reinforce representation of culturally diverse and underserved communities. The Arts Program will also promote equity in community access to its resources and opportunities. Selected artists will be expected to support these efforts in their own practice.
