Mirror Mirror – Call for Artists | Convocatoria para Artistas

San Diego International Airport’s Arts Program invites artists, curators, and cultural, community, or educational organizations working in all media to submit proposals for the 2025 temporary exhibition, Mirror Mirror. The exhibition is inspired by Southern California artists whose use of the natural environment and unique materials brought or developed by the region’s innovative industries led to contributions in artistic movements such as Light and Space. Mirror Mirror aims to showcase the contemporary resonance of perspective, materiality, light, and color, highlighting themes such as reflection and translucence. Selected artwork and collections representing the theme will be displayed throughout the airport for up to one year beginning in January 2025. Up to twenty participating artists and/or organizations will be chosen for the exhibition, each will receive a stipend of $1,250. Submissions of existing, in-process and/or new work are welcome. San Diego and Tijuana-based artists are strongly encouraged to apply.

El Programa de Artes del Aeropuerto Internacional de San Diego invita a artistas, curadores y organizaciones culturales, comunitarias o educativas que trabajan en todos los medios a presentar propuestas para la exposición temporal de 2025, Mirror Mirror. La exposición está inspirada en los artistas del sur de California cuyo uso del entorno natural y materiales únicos traídos o desarrollados por las industrias innovadoras de la región contribuyeron a movimientos artísticos como Light and Space. Mirror Mirror tiene como objetivo mostrar la resonancia contemporánea de la perspectiva, la materialidad, la luz y el color, destacando temas como la reflexión y la translucidez. Las obras de arte y las colecciones seleccionadas que representen el tema se exhibirán en todo el aeropuerto durante un periodo máximo de un año a partir de enero 2025. Se elegirán hasta veinte artistas o organizaciones participantes para la exhibición. Cada uno recibirá un estipendio de $1,250 USD. Las presentaciones de trabajos existentes, en proceso y/o nuevos son bienvenidos. Se invita a aquellos artistas con sede en San Diego y Tijuana a presentar sus solicitudes.
