  • Description

  • This piece, developed specifically for the Terminal 2 Parking Plaza, consists of hand-painted, 18-foot-high domes formed with fiberglass rods that arch across the central walkways in the garage. Each floor of the structure offers a unique view of the artwork, and the latticework design casts ever-changing shadows throughout the space. The artists were initially inspired by the quintessentially Californian view of a palm tree-lined street in creating the piece, and hope that these unexpected, organic forms will draw travelers into the light wells. Ball-Nogues has built a reputation for their highly original fabrication techniques, developed in their studio in Los Angeles. Their practice aspires to create environments that enhance sensation, generate spectacle, and invite physical engagement.
