  • Description

  • The artist’s concept began with the idea of birds indigenous to this area flying close to the ground casting shadows below. This resulted in a collection of undulating paths and tide pools made with materials one would expect to find along the seashore: beach pebbles, mother of pearl and sea shells imbedded in a natural lithocrete design. Small aluminum laser cut creatures dwell in many of the “pools”. There are also fleeting glimpses of cropped bird shadows on the eight sedimentary seat formations gathered around the central palms on either side of the Terminal 1 exterior plaza.
