  • Description

  • Large scale, cast-in-place concrete bas-reliefs provide texture and design to the 500-foot long pedestrian corridor linking Terminals 1 and 2. The patterns are derived from images of marine microorganisms, plankton, kelp, and marsh plants which are found in San Diego’s ocean and waterfront. These images ebb and flow over the concrete wall, as if floating and moving in water. Each panel measure 9 feet by 14 feet and provides the traveler with a momentary distraction between terminals.
