Description
- The photographs in Adriene Hughes' DREAMING OF YOU series were taken exclusively with a cell phone, and originally presented through social media platforms. In conceiving the project, Hughes imagines that extraterrestrial beings communicate with her as she moves through the San Diego terrain that she calls home. According to Hughes' narrative, these otherworldly beings make their presence known to her through flares of vibrant multicolored light that illuminate the landscape. Presented here in grid formations that resemble how one might view the images online, Hughes asks viewers to ponder whether these visitations are real or imagined.
