Performing Arts Residency Program
The Performing Arts Residency Program provides a platform for the development and performance of new work that simultaneously enriches the airport environment and cultivates the regional performing arts community. This opportunity is a process-oriented residency program open to contemporary performing arts in all disciplines—dance, music, theater, as well as cross-disciplinary digital media.

The Arts Program has organized a new schedule of singer-songwriters, composers, musicians of all genres, dancers, and theatrical/oratorical performances. Ensemble concerts take place every third Thursday of the month from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Terminal 2 Baggage Claim (pre-security) or Sunset Cove (post-security). Piano concerts take place every Friday from 11:30 a.m-1:30 p.m. at Sunset Cove.

The San Diego Guild of Puppetry has been creating giant puppet parades in the community since 2004 and its Dia de los Muertos puppets are the creations of Felix Diaz, his family, and his students.
The offerings of the SAN Arts Program surprise and delight travelers with presentations of the highest caliber and showcase San Diego’s rich cultural community. The idea is to provide enhanced customer service by exhibiting artwork and presenting programs that engage travelers in innovative, memorable and considerate experiences, creating an ambiance unique to San Diego and welcoming people to the airport and to the region.
The San Diego Guild of Puppetry produces an exciting array of high quality programs, including performances for all ages by local and touring artists, education outreach programming, and a variety of special events, often in collaboration with other arts, culture and community organizations. The San Diego Guild of Puppetry is the primary resource for the puppetry arts in San Diego County, and will be celebrating their 25th anniversary as a nonprofit in February 2019.
